http://crunchbang.org – apt-get install -fordpkg-reconfigure --allmight be worth a try. aptitude is better with troubleshooting than apt-get, at least sometimes.If it was me i would remove it, let apt remove everything else  it wants to remove, and install those packages later/again. But with a configured distribution like crunchbang it might not be what you want (i see no problems, but don't wanna let you run into it without having been warned).apt-get remove --purge x11-common -swill tell you which packages will be removed, -s means simulate. Hence you can run it as user(I would have run it myself, but am (HowTos)
