http://ubuntuforums.org – i have a Toshiba satellite c855d-s5307. it came preinstalled with windows 8. i have since then "upgraded" to windows 7 in CSM boot mode and installed Wubi. after about 5 minutes or so Wubi freezes up or the wifi disconnects. and restart is the only option. when i tried to install from usb/dvd it will not detect windows and shows the entire hard drive blank. really not sure were i can go from this point. i have to have it ready to use by monday. (Hardware)

I have problems installing Ubuntu 11.10. I run installation from my USB and installing it alongside my Windows XP as dual boot.

I upgraded my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and wanted to reinstall Ubuntu onto the windows filesystem via wubi. However, I read in many places that Windows 8 causes many new problems with the installation through WUBI, and doesn't work on computers pre-installed with Windows 8 because of a problem in the BiOS or something of that sort. Does it work on computers that were upgraded to Windows 8?

I would like to install Ubuntu 12.04 on my computer from Windows using Wubi, but I have a problem with it. Firstly I mount a CD image in a virtual drive via Daemon tool. Next I start Wubi, fill all installation fields, and then I click next. Then Wubi starts to extract files, etc.

I've tried VMs and now Wubi, and whenever i use a VM to install, i get "must run in low graphics mode" with a black screen or it freezes afterward.

When I install on my real machine through wubi, I reboot into Ubuntu, and I get the following:

First time poster here. I am trying to run Ubuntu on Windows 7 64-bit using Wubi. On my first couple of tries it gave me the "Extraction failed with code: 2". Then I manually downloaded the iso ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386.iso (choosing the 64-bit version from the dropdown) to my desktop where the wubi.exe is. I'm still having the same issue.

Please tell me how to uninstall it without effecting windows 7. I tried wubi but it didn't start up after the first boot up. On the second boot up option came up to select Ubuntu or windows 7. I choose Ubuntu but only logo appeared and then after that blank black screen nothing else.

Hi, I have been very happy with wubi 10.04 running alongside Windows (on two laptops running XP and 7, respectively).

Before finally moving to wubi 12.04 I'd like to run my old 10.04 together with the new version by using triple boot (XP /wubi 10.04 / wubi 12.04) or - on the other laptop (WIn7/ wubi 10.04 / wubi 12.04).

How can I do that?

Just installed Ubuntu 12.04 via WUBI to my lenovo ideapad laptop. I originally wanted to dual boot with my windows7, but the windows7/lenovo combination is configured to take up 4 primary partitions, and my hard drive is a bit to small for a logical partition install.

How to install ubuntu 12.04 LTS from the downloaded iso inside windows with wubi. Please tell me.I am using windows xp and windows7 (dual boot) I have tried putting wubi and iso in one folder but then also i open wubi it is downloading from internet.
