Motorola Mobility's Droid Xyboard 10.1 tablet brings the iPad some solid competition thanks to its Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system, thin profile, HD display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and compatiblity with Verizon's 4G LTE network. Yet, Motorola should take the hardware button design and new stylus option back to the drawing board, this eWEEK review adds....
The source we cited a couple weeks ago indicating the Nexus 10 Pogo charger would be available within 10 days on Amazon and eBay came close to being accurate. A magnetic charger from MagNector has not turned up on Amazon yet, but it has made an appearance today on eBay for only $19.99.
Just about anybody that has had a Motorola Android device will say that updates get delayed quite often. Look at the DROID RAZR for example. The infamous 4.0 ICS update was pushed back for months, leaving consumers anxious to receive some “tender, love, and care.”
Owners of the XYBOARD devices haven’t see too many updates besides 4.0 for Wi-Fi-only models.
A couple of days ago, our own Stacy Bruce reported that the DROID XYBOARD had been rooted. Now, apparently, the developer of this root method, which he calls “Motofail”, is stating that this same exploit works on all current Motorola devices running Gingerbread or Honeycomb.
The Droid 4 root (“Motofail”) should work on all Gingerbread Motorola devices that I know of.
“What could be better than winning a DROID XYBOARD by Motorola 8.2 Tablet? Winning TWO!” That’s right folks, that’s how Verizon has started its announcement regarding your chance to win not just one, but two XYBOARD 8.2-Inch Tablets. All you have to do is complete the entry form and then share the sweepstakes on either Facebook or Twitter.
Interesting news coming from the Motorola camp as they are now offering their Xyboard tablets with nano-coating technology. The good news is that is means the Wi-Fi only tablets are now water-resistant, allowing users to simply wipe off spills in case of an accident.
Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I have a request.
I recently bought the Motorola Wireless Keyboard with Trackpad, initially intended to work with the Xyboard and, I believe, the RAZR. I'm using it with my One X.
However, certain features of the keyboard are exclusive to Moto devices only, such as two finger scrolling and pinch to zoom.
Title says it all. I have a year or so old Droid Razr Maxx in MINT condition and a XYboard 10.1 Tablet, both on Verizon that I would like to trade for an iPhone 5. Looking for the iPhone to be black in color and 16 or 32GB. Don't need 64GB. Looking to make the jump to iOS to make things easier with the rest of the family.
I have a verizon Xyboard 10.0 that boots to an application in kiosk mode. I cannot break out of the kiosk mode. I want to root it and eliminate the kiosk app then upgrade to ICS... I cannot get to settings but I can get into recovery mode by holding POWER and VOL down.. then I get to a black screen that says ...
something locked..
