Hello there!i think i cant really help you, because i have the same problem with some of my apps and it seem nearly impossible to find out where the icon tint uses is comming from.I wanted to change several icons showed in the taskbar and sometimes it was helpful to change the icon inside the .desktop-file, sometimes i replaced the icons in the icon folder of /usr/share/applications/DESIEREDAPP an
I recently deleted some icon themes, as a result the applications do not display the icons properly. The applications are running but some buttons do not display some icons and some icons are changed.
I tried re-installing the applications but the result is the same. Can any one tell me what I can do?
All my icons har gone from Unity 3D, but present in Unity 2D. The icon for the Dash is also gone. All icons are present IN the dash, but when I add them to Unity the icon is suddenly invisble.
Everything works in Unity 2D.
I've only installed two programs from AUR that would have icons, but neither of them use the icons that come with them. I've checked and the icons are installed in /usr/share/icons and the Icon tag is specified in /usr/share/applications/<program-name>.desktop. I'm using GNOME 3, and all I get is the default executable icon with these programs I have installed from the AUR.
I am using 11.04 with Ubuntu Classic (no effects) session. I found that all the default applications have their indicator icons working fine. But for any other application ,which I installed like pidgin, fusion-icon, checkgmail etc, no icon appears in the notification area. These applications are indeed running as I could check from terminal.
I would like to change the icons displayed in window title bars:
The window icons appear to be unrelated to the icons used by launchers and docks, as they don't follow the ones defined in their respective .desktop files.
I did a net install of f17 with lxde desktop today, everything went well, after installing the system I logged in and installed 2 applications: firefox and gparted. But neither of them show icons in the menu.
I changed them manually but the real problem came when I tried to configure network manager.
After some time from installation everything was just fine with my launcher in tint2-svn but suddenly there is blank space where there were before and should be now also icons: 1=nautilus icon2=gnome terminal icon3=gimp icon - runningtint2rc:# Launchers
