ZaReason, the company that builds Linux desktops and laptops, has released the UltraLap 430, the first Ultrabook that comes with Linux.
UltraLap 430 will cost $899 and it comes with quite decent hardware specs, a 1.8GHz 3rd generation Intel Core i3 CPU, 4GB of DD3 RAM for memory and a 32GB SSD for storage. For connection, you got 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and two USB 3.0 ports.
Its time to upgrade the laptop, and in the spirit of merelyjim's "No thanks, I got Linux." thread, I want to support a manufacturer that supports Linux.I'm between System76's Lemur Ultra and ZaReason's Alto 4330. I was initially leaning towards ZaReason, but when similarly spec'd, the System76 laptop comes out ~$150 cheaper.
In our recent ZaReason UltraLap 430 review, Ars alum Ryan Paul lamented that even though putting Linux on laptops is easier today than ever, it's still not perfect.
Hey everyody,
I'm posting here to share my problem on waking up the computer from suspend. It's been few days now that i can't wake up from Suspend anymore, and that suddenly, without changing anything in the settings. I've just made a couple of updates through the Software Center but that's it, I don't think it has a relation though.
I'm on a Zareason Ultralap 430.

While many casinos and poker rooms online are starting to make their software compatible with Macintosh operating systems, Linux compatible programs are still clearly in the minority and a little harder to find.

Well, the tablet craze continues apace, putting Linux -- in the form of Android -- into the hands of countless new users every day. Go tablets! Of course, much as we here in the Linux community are fiercely proud of Android and the success it has achieved, there's no denying that the software isn't as open as many of us would like it to be.
