I have a ThinkPad w510 with Ubuntu 10.04.3 installed on it, and it runs well just the only problems i have is that it does not suspend or hibernate usually. If i shut the lid it will go into sleep but when i reopen it the network will not connect and the computer screen is dimmer and will not be turned back up.
I have several long running benchmarks (SPEC CPU 2006 benchmarks) to run on a Linux server.
The server is running Gentoo Linux with a Linux Kernel 3.6.11.
I saw some big differences between different runs and I'm thinking that it could be some problem with my configuration.
I'm the only user of the server.
I have already disabled the CPU frequency scaling feature of the kernel.
Dan Kegel has been running some DirectX and OpenGL benchmarks on Ubuntu + Wine and Windows Vista, Here is the results of Dans recent benchmark test.
Yagmarkdata now has data from five different benchmarks: 3dmark 2000, 2001, 2006 and heaven2_opengl, d3d9, and running on a semi-whimpy e8400 dual core box with an nvidia gt 220 card, on both Vista and Ubuntu+Wine.

Earlier today we put out benchmarks of ZFS on Linux via a native kernel module that will be made publicly available to bring this Sun/Oracle file-system over to more Linux users.
