Wireless internet stopped working

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I have had Crunchbang Statler installed for a few weeks now, with wireless internet working out of the box without any problem (despite the wireless card on this laptop being an old Broadcom  BCM4309). However, today I turned on the laptop and it cannot find or connect to any wireless network. Running 'iwlist scanning' fails to find the wireless connection, and no matter where abouts I am, or how close to the router, the problem persists. At first I thought that the wireless card had somehow been turned off, but neither 'ifconfig wlan0 up', nor rebooting the computer, (HowTos)

So I was going to post the following question because the "Enable Wireless" wasn't working. Instead, I figured out he accidentally turned the wireless switch off (Fn+F2).

I recently installed Ubuntu 10.4 on my new Dell Studio 1558. After installing the broadcom proprietary driver for my wireless card, the wireless for my laptop worked fine.

Hi I just deleted my windows XP and installed Ubuntu 9.10 earlier this morning. I used wired connection to get drivers for my wireless network card.

When I did lspci, the very last line states:

Network Controller: Broadcom Coporation BCM4311 902.11b/g WLAN(rev 01)

I installed Ubuntu 11.10 recently. After the first bootup the computer freezes so I have to force-quit my computer.

Then I turned on my computer after that. I tried connecting to the internet. My (and my neighbor's) wireless networks shown up, but no matter how many times I tried, I can't connect to my home network. I checked the password and the other laptop's internet works (a MacBookPro).

Dear Friends I am new to this forum and backtrack OS.Recently I installed backTrack 5 R1 64 bit on my laptop however i can not access internet through my wireless card although it is working on my Windows 7.The wireless card model is Intel pro 3945ABG.This is some basic command which i use in terminal to find out more about the problem:

root@root:~# iwconfig lo no wireless extensions.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on a Dell Lattitude 620 laptop with a Broadcom 4331 card and a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580. I'm listing all of this stuff, because I'm really not sure which part the problem is coming from.

Hi. This is an old problem for me, but apparently insolveable. Thought I'd try again, maybe someone here can help.

I cannot use the wireless internet connection in my house. My computer sees the connection. It is ChinaNet-zbgJ. The password is xutuhamh

The router is brand new, installed yesterday. The internet provider upgraded me and made the connection a bit faster.

I'm using Maverick and since yesterday, my wireless hasn't been working. It was working before with Maverick and I don't recall doing any updates that might have changed wireless configurations.

By "doesn't work" I mean it doesn't recognizes any networks, as if the wireless was turned off (there's this button on laptops, but it's turned on).

I have a Compaq pessario CQ60, a wireless network, and a Atheros AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter and I cant get the wireless internet to connect. the wireless works fine on vista, and I got the internet working via cable, but I need to get it working wirelessly. I am a beginner to linux, but know a little ( nothing in terminal though).
