Greetings! For sometime now my wireless connection is always 802.11g (54Mbit/s) but my WiFi card is 802.11n capable. Some google-ing sent me to topics from 2010 stating a bug with the ath9k driver and kernel panics, but this is not the case. There's some diagnostic information below:lshw: *-network
description: Wireless interface
product: AR9285 Wireless
I'm been having problems keeping a steady connection with my Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter. It will drops down to 1mb/s and then randomly will go back up to 150mb/s
I had stumbled upon the fix once before but I just cant seem to find it this time.
this is what I got from lspci
08:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc.
Could you, pls, help me with my wireless card Atheros AR9285 on Ubuntu 10.12..
I've already went through all possible advices and still cannot start my wireless card.
I have a laptop Toshiba Portege Z830 where Wifi've already worked under Windows 7.
But after migration on Ubuntu 10.12.
Try upgrading your kernel to the latest version available in backports.
Just now I have installed 9.04 in my Lenovo z570. I am new to Ubuntu. By searching on various community, I come to know that I need to install wifi drivers to make wifi run because the output of lshw -c network shows that wireless drivers are unclaimed and output of iwconfig shows No wireless extensions.
Hi
I have recently installed kubuntu 12.10 on a HP 630. I can not make the wireless card (Atheros AR9285).
Code:
lspci:
02:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc.
Today I installed Ubuntu 11.10 x64 on to my lenovo B570 using wubi.exe. After booting up, I discovered that I could not turn on wireless networking. I have a Atheros AR9285 wireless card.
I ran through the Ubuntu wireless troubleshooting guide, and the output suggest that the card has a driver, but it simply wont turn on!
At unpredictable intervals my laptop drops its wireless. Initially it will continue to try to connect to the network and ask for the password, but eventually gives up.
After upgrading to 11.04, I have found that I can not select "Enable Wireless" because "wireless is disabled by hardware switch". There is a hardware switch for the wireless but playing with that seems to do nothing.
lspci says I have an Atheros Communications Inc.
