How can I connect to wireless network us
I have a dual boot system with Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I use Verizon Mobile Broadband (HP un2420) to connect to the Internet on the Windows side. When I use Ubuntu I can't access the Internet unless I use Barnes and Noble or some other WiFi offered from a local business. I do not understand why my Verizon access doesn't show in the wireless connections to choose from when I'm using Ubuntu.
Sorry if there is a tread that can answer this, but I want a personal answer to my problem.
Soo, I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 and everything was ok util I was going to connect to internet. I just cant't find any way to connect to any wireless networks. I'm living in a board school so wireless is my only way to connect to internet.
I am running 12.04 LTS alongside Windows 7. When I boot into Ubuntu, it says that there is no firmware for a wireless network, and it shows "no wireless network" and I can't connect to the Internet. When I boot into Windows, it works fine.
How can I get it to work because I obviously need to be able to connect to the Internet for Ubuntu to be useful?
I installed Ubuntu 11.10 recently. After the first bootup the computer freezes so I have to force-quit my computer.
Then I turned on my computer after that. I tried connecting to the internet. My (and my neighbor's) wireless networks shown up, but no matter how many times I tried, I can't connect to my home network. I checked the password and the other laptop's internet works (a MacBookPro).
i don't know if is it possible ?
I have 2 computers
one is connected directly to internet with a classic rj45 cable.
Hello. I brought my computer with Ubuntu 9.10 installed alongside Windows Vista home for the Christmas break. I turned it on today in hopes that I could get on, play around with Linux a little bit, and then do some homework on it. Unfortunately, I intend to get some software which I desperately need to do my work, and this requires internet usage.
I installed ubuntu 12.04 on a HP pavilion G4 series laptop longside windows 7.
I am not able to connect to internet via aircel 3G usb dongle.
I tried editing network connection still not able to connect to internet.
apart from that while installing ubuntu certain firmware updates we needed and I skipped that step since I couldn't connect to the internet.
I have Compaq presario laptop with Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g wireless adapter. I am using fedora core 10. I am able to connect to wireless routers and browse internet. These types of connections are shown as in infrastructure mode.
The problem arises when I connect to an ad hoc wireless network. I am trying to connect with my phone using ad hoc network to access internet.
