Wireless connection must be reconfigured after hibernation

http://forums.opensuse.org – I have been running SUSE 11.1 on my HP laptop for over a year. For the most part, I am thrilled with it. However, when I awaken the computer from hibernation mode, I have to go into the Network Settings applet proceed with the wizard in order to get my wireless connection working. Another irritating aspect is that if I go to a place with a Wireless Hotspot, the computer doesn't automatically pick it up. Again, I have to go through the Network Settings applet to get it working. I want this to work as it does on Windows XP/Vista where I can put the computer to sleep and when I awaken it, then the wireless connection is automatically there for me, etc. I have to think I probably need to tweak a setting somewhere, so if someone can tell me where to do this, great! I am using an internal wireless card (Atheros AR928X PCI-EXPRESS). If you need additional info, let me know. (Distributions)

I have a Compaq pessario CQ60, a wireless network, and a Atheros AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter and I cant get the wireless internet to connect. the wireless works fine on vista, and I got the internet working via cable, but I need to get it working wirelessly. I am a beginner to linux, but know a little ( nothing in terminal though).

Hi I am having a serious issue with keeping the Wireless online under F17. I am not sure what interrupts the connection. A complete reboot is the only way to recover the connection. The lspci command shows the Wireless Adapter as follows ---> 03:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc.

I was screwing around in the bios and somehow changed something which I don't remember but it was more than enough to kill my wireless wifi connection to my computer.

My TP-Link wireless card worked until I changed something in the bios.

Can anyone help me, i have a AR928X wireless card and everything i have tried has failed

the default driver ath9k scans and connects to my router but cant connect to any site or ping anything , same with the madwifi driver

Hi! I've had this problem for a long time now. Maybe someone here can help me solve it.

My computer sees the wireless network at home, ChinaNet-zbgJ. The dsl router is brand new, they just changed things to make it faster. I have the password, it is written on the router.

I recently installed xfce4 with a wired connection and used the newly updated install cd ISO. After using the wired connection to install what I needed I went on to install what is needed for the wireless setup. I went with wpa_supplicant and networkmanager. I configured my wpa_supplicant.conf appropriately and installed the drivers needed for my atheros wireless adapter.

Wireless not working on reboot 3 years 24 weeks ago

I am running Opensuse 11.2. My wireless adapter is a rt2860sta which the system recognized when it was installed. I can configure Wireless using YaST/Network Settings and my wireless works great. My problem is when I reboot I have no wireless. If I go back into Network Settings and edit the wireless connection it works fine, that is until the system is rebooted.

I have had Crunchbang Statler installed for a few weeks now, with wireless internet working out of the box without any problem (despite the wireless card on this laptop being an old Broadcom  BCM4309). However, today I turned on the laptop and it cannot find or connect to any wireless network.
