Wired Network Printing

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I'm using the live cd (F12) on my old Dell P IV. Fedora boots up smartly, even with my Intel graphics card. I have a wired network to an XP machine and an HP printer, which I have connected to other Linux distros. When I tried to add the printer through Fedora (Gnome), the setup didn't give me the option of a Samba connection. Do I need to install Samba? Would the KDE version of Fedora be a better choice? Do I need to install to HD for the connection to work? I have been using Linux for several years, but it seems I'm a permanent noob in these matters. (HowTos)
