I have a rooted Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 with Android 4.3.
I've rooted it using this method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gYjoW22h7c
Now, I would like to erase all the data, but don't loose the root access.
Originally, I was going to go to Settings and press Factory Reset, as I used to do before I rooted the device.
I'm using Philz Touch Recovery and I did the Wipe Data/Factory Reset. The process was successful and installed the new rooted rom. After boot up i went to "My Files" and download folder which is located in my device storage. (/storage/emulated/0/Download) All the files that i downloaded from the internet before wipe data/factory reset is still there.
A coworker asked me if I could fix her Samsung Galaxy Note Tab 3, due to her daughter locking the device and not being able to unlock it. I'm an iOS guy but since I'm in the IT department I decided to give it a try, and I looked up how to reset this device to factory settings.
I am able to enter in recovery mode, and I have several options.
first time flashing a device. I have CWM 184.108.40.206 flashed and a question about the wipe data/factory reset. I only have the internal storage at the moment and I have the CM11 and Gapps zip folders in /sdcard so I saw the wipe data will only clear the /data partition. Is that correct, meaning those zip folders won't be deleted in /sdcard and I can just flash the Rom immediately after?

I rooted it about 6 months ago, but I have stayed on stock and just frozen and deleted some of the bloatware apps. Can I just do a regular factory data reset? I am concerned because of rumors that it might brick your phone?
My tablet Trio Stealth 10 MST 10-21 froze on the logo screen so i did a reset by holding down the volume button the android system recovery list came up i went to wipe data/factory reset it freezes on that screen also.so i went back to system recovery and wiped cache partition also wiped media partion it still will not startup and stays frozen on wipe data/factory reset screen i have also reset it
I've read some other posts where this has caused a certain amount of controversy but no post seemed to actually answer the question..
Using the Wipe data\Factory reset in ClockWorkMod Recovery has started to wipe the ENTIRE device
(excluding the external SD card)
I have flashed dozens of custom ROMs in the past and what normally happens is my external SD card contents remains safe, this still
