Hey so i was messing around with my phone the other morning and decided to encrypt my phone but it failed and messed up my system i got this message. The picture is down below.
So I press reset phone and it factory wipes it. But it really doesn't, the phone then reboots and the same message comes up again. I cant access anything on the phone there is no lock screen or status bar.
Hi! I need to sell my Galaxy Exhibit 4G, so I want to do a factory data reset to wipe it clean. I rooted it about 6 months ago, but I have stayed on stock and just frozen and deleted some of the bloatware apps. Can I just do a regular factory data reset? I am concerned because of rumors that it might brick your phone?
So I got a replacement Thunderbolt in the mail from Verizon. First thing I rooted it and got S-OFF. However, now when I turn it on, it gets to the green HTC logo, but when it plays the thunderbolt sound the screen is black. Then the screen stays black.
I was running CarbonROM and wanted to try out a TW ROM. I booted into my recovery (TWRP), backed up Carbon, went to wipe options, did a Factory Reset, pushed the button to wipe system, it started but after a couple seconds the phone rebooted. I try boot back into recovery by holding down the power, VOL up, and home button.
Got the phone from a coworker. Tried Factory Resetting the phone via Setting Menu, at least five times, however it didn't work. Couldn't wipe the phone's user data or anything. Even tried taking the battery out and re-inserting it. Still didn't wipe the previous users data or setting.
Finally Master Reset the device via Recovery Mode/Menu.
First lets understand what a factory reset does. It removes all USER DATA and restores the phone back to factory settings providing that the phone is not rooted. User data is defined as apps, call logs, contacts, and anything else the user has placed in the phones memory. Stuff that is on the SDCARD is not affected by a factory reset.
