I appologise if this is in the wrong thread but I've recently swapped from Linux Mint to Fedora 11. I have used Fedora before but having problems with Nvidia.
Hi
I have been running F11 for some time now. I install updates regularly and to this time have had no issues. Now it comes up with error.

I installed Arch i686 on a VirtualBox VM (I have an nvidia GT610). I ran the following commmand as root:
pacman -S nvidia
After installation and rebooting, I ran
pacman -S xorg-server xorg-xinit xorg-server-utils xorg-twm xorg-xclock xterm
then
startx
I got a fatal error saying No screens found. Any help as to what should I do ?
I was really excited about Fedora 18 and decided to upgrade using fedup all seemed to be going ok until I rebooted and got the error about plymouth not quitting which I had seen before so I rebooted and reinstalled kmod-nvidia-3.7.2-201.fc18.X86_64, nvidia-settings_x86_64, xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.i686, nvidia-settings_x86_64, xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.x86_64, and nvidia-xconfig.x86_64 then I ran n

AMD has released a new Catalyst 12.10 driver for Linux. I was hoping that with with catalyst 12.10, legacy drivers (version 12.6) will be updated to support xorg 1.13 (required for Ubuntu 12.10).
However, this release seems to be a complete joke.
I have used rEFIt to achieve triple-boot on my 15' Retina Macbook Pro. However, for now I cannot get the nVidia drivers to work under Ubuntu 12.04 x64.
Every time after I installed the nVidia Driver, X won't restart, and give me an error of "No screens found".
I have tried both drivers from nVidia's website and drivers from Proprietary Drivers in Ubuntu's System Settings.
Latest proprietary AMD Catalyst driver version 12.9 cannot be used with Ubuntu 12.10 If you have a AMD Radeon HD 2xxx-4xxx series card.
Drivers for these cards are now available in a separate branch called legacy series. Unfortunately these legacy drivers (version 12.6) have not been updated to work with Ubuntu 12.10.
