Windows unable to connect to Ubuntu external HDD via Samba

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello, I have shared my Ubuntu machines /home/user/Downloads folder through samba. All Windows 7 users on the LAN are able to connect and read/write files in this directory without any user permissions issues. I am trying to add an external hard drive to samba so that all users on the LAN will be able to use it the same way, but when connecting I am getting a 'you do not have permission to access... etc' when using Windows. Both directory entries in /etc/samba/smb.conf are the same except the samba directory name and path. Why am I able to connect to /Download but not /media/user/externalH (Hardware)
