I've setup a server which I've connected to multiple PCs in my workplace. Sadly, data transfer speeds are at max 3 MB/sec per connection which works out slow for file transfers, especially when transferring large files. I'm using Windows filesharing and the server is a Windows Server 2008 (2 Ghz CPU, 1 GB RAM) and the client PCs mostly running Windows 7.
i have the following situation, i have a kvm host ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-bit network host speed is perfectly run , as i am testing network speed using iperf , the speed between any network device and the kvm host is perfect running with 1GB/s
but guest network speed is slow and the test result like 500 MB/s with any network device or with the host itself , although when i migrate this guest to anoth
Hi all,
This is my first post to these forums.
Im running Virtualbox on a Ubuntu 12.04 server (host) and I'm running a Windows 7 as guest os. Im using the (virtual) Intel PRO/1000 MT network card.
I get good network performance for download using both nat and bridged network settings but upload speed is really slow using nat.
I have tied this on tow different servers, one brand new, and one a several years old, both gave the same result.
I have 2 etch virtual machines. One's a clean Etch r9, the other is one of our server builds.
On EtchR9 network speeds are 1Gbps.
My ESXi 5.0 update1 is a single server.
All my network environment are Giga-LAN equipments and NICs.
I want to backup all the files of every guest OS and ftp them to a NAS server.
My ESXi server's NIC is capable of running at 1000M bps speed and in VMware vSphere Client, it does show that that NIC is running at 1000M bps/sec.
My NAS server's NIC is also running at 1000M bps/sec.
However, I found
Client : Windows 7 x32 | Dell Latitude E6510, transferring to another identical machine over the network.. 120mbs.
Transferring to any server (2003 server, 2008, 2008R2, or VM's) I can not get more than 30MBS. The server is plugged into the same switch and is a physical server. I have jumbo frames and flow control enabled.
I have very slow LAN transfer speeds over WiFi to my Windows 7 shared folders.
Using AndroidSMB client, I get a max of 500KB/s yet on WIFI WAN I get speed tests in the 30Mbit/s range.
I've got a problem with my network speed. I'm running an ubuntu 11.10 x64 Server (no extra packets) and have installed proftpd and samba.
Everything is up and running, the only Problem is that after a short period of time with ok Up and Down Speeds (10MB/s on an 10/100 Card) the speed drops to the half(3-6 MB/s). FTP and Samba have both the identic behaviour.
