http://askubuntu.com – I have a funny problem with my printer. Canon printer lpb2900 is connected to a windows pc.It is shared over network. I installed drivers to my 12.04 ubuntu pc Now when i want to print something i have to send it to printer and then turn the printer of and on again.funny thing is that when i dont ,the windows pc will say "out of paper" when i try to print something from it. The printer is shared over the network and can be accessed from a Windows 7 client. But from time to time after 1-2 prints the printer crashes. I that happens, only a power disconnect can bring it back.

We have 3 computers with windows xp installed and two canon ir2200-ir3300 printer all connected through a router box. Each computer and each printer has ip addresses. It was configured like tcp ip enabled printer inside the local printer option. Each windows system can see both printer with ip and can select them to print.

Now we want to try ubuntu in one of the system.

I'm having trouble getting my networked printer to print and am hoping someone can lend some advice. I'm running openSUSe 11.3 on a laptop and the printer is connected to my desktop which is running Windows XP. I have the printer and several folders and drives shared. I can see the folders and drivers on my laptop but I cannot get the printer to actually print.

Hopefully someone can give me some help. At my office, I run Ubuntu 10.04 on my computer. I am trying to connect to a printer over the network that is connected directly to a Windows XP machine. I have gone through all of the steps to install the printer. I have Samba. The printer is shared on the XP machine. I have the drivers.

I have a Canon Pixma MP150. It's old but it still works well. The problem is that since I have been running Ubuntu the printer exhibits odd behavoir. Usually right at the end of a job, it will stop. The printing is done, but the printer is still "working" and it won't release the paper.

Toshiba Laptop L350-S5933, Intel Pentium Dual CPU T3400 @2.16 GHz, Ram 3.o GB, ACPI x86 32 bit OpSys, Canon MP560, Dual Boot installed Karmic (Vista other OS), Canon is logged into wireless network using Actiontec.

Ubuntu shows the printer as the default printer. Listed as Make & Model: Canon Pixma MP500 - cups+ Gutenprint v5.4

I have a fresh install of Mythbuntu 12.04.01 I download and installed the Canon drivers from the Canon website: UFR II Printer Driver for Linux Version 2.50 I used the procedure at this location: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...78&postcount=8

When I print documents, I see them show up in the print queue.
