how can I modify or create again the whole process of creating a backup in Windows Backup?
I'm doing until now backup to an external drive, and when it ran out of space on the backup fails.
It is possible that the automatic Windows Backup delete the oldest backup?
Regards
Because I'm using a laptop, I've set up Back in Time to back up to a folder stored on my only hard disk, /backup.
I'm using the Windows 7 backup and restore utility to create a system image and personal file backup to an external Seagate GoFlex 3TB disk.
An NTFS volume might sometimes misreport free disk space. This primarily occurs since NTFS supports several file-level and volume features. To solve such problems, you might need to reformat the volume and use backup to restore lost files and folders. One should use file recovery utility in case if backup fails to restore.
I need to organize a virtual network for practice with Windows Server 2008 and several workstations with Windows OS.
To make it all I only have a laptop with Dual-Core 2.10Ghz, 3 GB RAM, 50 GB free space and Windows 7 on it.
Is it possible to set up the standard backup system in SBS 2011 (or Server 2008 R2) to use an internal drive as a destination as well as external drives?
Before you say yes, from my tests and from what I've read on the web, backups with internal drives included as a destination always seems to prefer the internal drive over connected external ones.
I use Déjà for backup. Backups are stored on disk USB. I disconnect and connect USB drive. Now when the backup program is trying to create a backup, I get the error: Not enough space on the disk. Although disk space is.
I have a machine with 3 hard drives; the primary, which is 750GB (drive 0), and 2 others, each of which is 640GB (drives 1 and 2).
On the last screen before the actual installation begins, this is how my hard drive configuration looks:
/dev/sda [DISK0, 750GB]
/dev/sda1 ntfs 104MB [Win7 System Reserved]
/dev/sda2 ntfs 499,997MB [Windows 7 Pro]
free space 250,052MB [This space int
I just got a new acer netbook, it comes with windows 7. I wanted to know how I could create a recovery image using tools like dd.
I want to know what command creates the exact backup of the hard disk and how I could restore it incase things go wrong when I try to install linux.
I have an external hard disk on which I will store this image and a bootable usb drive with ubuntu 12.04.
