Have tried numerous different solutions for days without finding a working solution to this. I have a new UEFI enabled PC with Windows 7 installed. I have shrunk the windows partition to make room for Fedora 17. Booted the Fedora 17 DVD (via UEFI) and ran installation.
Help appreciated for a Fedora newbie.
I bought a windows 8 box, so I could install Fedora 18. I did not want to risk my main PC.
I first installed Fedora on a Virtual machine under Win 8, no problem, but it runs slowly. Then I tried to install Fedora as a dual boot. It failed to start from the DVD.
I then discovered you have to disable the secure boot feature from the boot menu.
Hi,
I have Fedora 15 installed on my laptop and I had given the installation 100gb on storage to dual boot with windows 7.
I have been getting the warnings about low disk space and it is stopping me from installing applications using yum. I looked at the disk space analyzer and I don't really understand what is going on.
Hello, I need help with installing Fedora with dual-boot. I have got 2 HDD
1:
C:\ D:\ E:\
2:
F:\
I want Fedora on D:\ (sda2) The problem is that I don't know how to install it with "custom layout" (it's complicated a bit) so I wanna use the "Free space". But I already have got D:\ made with Windows (NTSF) and I need to delete it (to make free space).

i've just finished to install fedora 18 as webserver.
now i'm trying to install joomla 2.5.11 (i already installed it more than 100x on windows/ubuntu without any issue) and i get a warning that a file "configuration.php" is not writeable...
I am new to Linux and fairly new to computers. My laptop is an ASUS N56V and has UEFI BIOS (I did not know this ahead of time). I downloaded fedora 17 to a live CD and set my BIOS to run the disk drive first. Went and installed fedora 17 as dual boot so I could still use windows by shrinking the windows partition and then using the free space for fedora.
Recently I have installed Windows 8 on my laptop and left enough amount of free space for fedora 18 installation.
Now I installed fedora 18 using a live USB on the free space which i left. It installed normally without any errors but when I rebooted my computer it always boot to windows 8. It doesn't provides me a option for fedora 18....
What should I do to make it Dual Boot???
hi,
i'm having issues with upgrading from fedora 16 to fedora 17.
I use "preupgrade" to do the update. When executing this command, at some point, after downloading the packages for the new release, fedora reboots and does the rest of the installation.
Hi,all!
Recently by some accidental reason my Fedora 15 installation was completely removed
and I tried to install Fedora 17 in place of F15.
I downloaded Fedora's Fedora-17-i686-Live-Desktop.iso from fedoraproject.org and
burned CD.
Checksums verifications after downloading and burning CD both were OK.
But I could not even start loading vmlinuz0 kernel.
After some google search I c
