I have first installed 10.XX version but later uninstalled and deleted the ISO image. then i tried to install 12.04 version but after installation from WUBI on first boot-up installation , it hangs on "Almost Finished Copying Files" I have given 16GB space in my Windows C Drive. I have tried to do the same 3-4 times by uninstalling and installing again.
I am trying to install 12.04 from a LiveCD on an older desktop PC. My first attempt to install Precise did not succeed: it took about 2 hours to get to the point where it tried to download language packs, got stuck there, I skipped, and then it got stuck at downloading updates for another hour.

I've been trying to install Ubuntu onto my laptop. About a year ago I used wubi and installed Ubuntu and everything was working fine except occasionally Ubuntu would not boot and get stuck on some "PCI Port Error" (Something like that can't really remember now). Anyways, I got frustrated with the inconsistent start up of Ubuntu so I decided to uninstall wubi on my laptop.
i have tried several times to install ubuntu using wubi, i can't use a disc as i have a notebook computer and there is no optical drive.
the download and installation all seem to work well but whenever i try to boot ubuntu at the windows 7/ubuntu menu it comes up with this error screen.
I have used both the C: drive and the D: drive to install Ubuntu several times each, it's always unsuccessful.
I recently got a Dell Inspiron Special Edition 7720 computer. I am trying to install Ubuntu along side Windows. When I use the WUBI installer, the installation of Ubuntu works as long as I do not boot into Windows; if I boot into Windows, when I go back into Ubuntu, I am given a variety of error messages which claim to have corrupt or missing kernel/root directory, etc.

I'm trying to reinstall Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit on my Vaio dual booting with Windows 7. The first time I tried to reinstall (without wiping data), it froze somewhere near the end. The computer was still responsive, but the installation was hanging.
