Anyone out there know about software RAID and LVM in grub2? I'm having real trouble getting it to work. I have an F19 system in a server, which has a reasonably large and fast RAID disk (software RAID0 over hardware RAID1 - this configuration chosen because the hardware RAID controller only supports levels 0 and 1). I'll call this RAID array md0 (that's what grub2 calls it).
Are there any updates on these issues? I wasn't able to install 2012.10 with RAID0 Software raid, I suppose for the same reasons honor mentioned in his last post Help!Tribe is listing the raid partitions as md01 md11 etc.,but in dev/ they are defined as md0p1 md1p1 and so on.
I have a beginner question about using software raid on Ubuntu and what the smartest way is to build the hardware for a home-file-server.
My plan is to have a server with one system disk(SSD 60GB) and 3-6 2TB disks in a software raid 5 or 6 or 10(havent decided yet...) using mdadm. So my idea is to not include the SSD drive in any raid, and just run it standalone with Ubuntu server.
