How does Linux determine which network interface to use, when both are connected to the same network?
Note that this isn't a question on routing. I'm familiar with how that works.
Hi All,
I upgraded to CM 10.0.0 stable this morning and in the course of things noticed that IPv6 wasn't working on my WiFi connection. I have native dual stack available and all my other devices have connectivity for both ipv4 & ipv6 (on WiFi or Ethernet)
After a bit of digging I noticed that the wlan0 interface was getting a global ipv6 address but no default route was being added.
We recently set up a server on Debian Wheezy Beta 3 (x86_64) which has a native IPv6 connection.
We configured the eth0 interface to get the IPv6 configuration through some post-up hook commands in /etc/network/interfaces.
I use wicd to connect to wireless lans without probs and the relevant part of my rc.conf looks like this:# Use 'ifconfig -a' or 'ls /sys/class/net/' to see all available interfaces.
#
# Interfaces to start at boot-up (in this order)
# Declare each interface then list in INTERFACES
# - prefix an entry in INTERFACES with a !
After installing Debian stable (squeeze) I found that eth0 is not coming up, when I bring it up with "ifconfig eth0 up" only IPv6 is configured. Installation did happen in a home network with IPv6 enabled through a tunnel and a radvd router. Which makes me think it may have decided to disable IPv4, don't know how or why.
Hi,
a week ago i switched from 11.1 to 11.2. Since then i can not really surf the web :/ its **** slow.
First i thought it could refer to the router but no other system connected to the router is that slow. I read several threads facing these problems but disabling ipv6 and traditional network setup did not fix it.
I even tried different kernels but always slow :(
AFAIK Ipv6 are unique over LAN and WAN
using this tutorial
http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Using_IPv6_on_2.1_with_a_Tunnel_Broker
my lan network has now ipv4 connection and ipv6
I would like to be able to access my lan machines by their ipv6
i'm confused with firewall rules which i need to set to be able to do that
For now lets say that for the 3 interface (WAN / LAN / IPV6TUNNEL)
i tell p
I've been trying to connect with ipv6 enabled networks with my Broadcom Wireless card under Ubuntu 12.04. The wireless card model is BCM4306.
$lspci
$Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 03)
$Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
Laptop gets the Internet through wifi. I'm trying to plug a router to the laptop to create a new wifi network. Laptop would bridge.
