I need a dual boot in my computer, Windows 7 and Fedora 17.
Recently I have installed Windows 8 on my laptop and left enough amount of free space for fedora 18 installation.
Now I installed fedora 18 using a live USB on the free space which i left. It installed normally without any errors but when I rebooted my computer it always boot to windows 8. It doesn't provides me a option for fedora 18....
What should I do to make it Dual Boot???
Installed Fedora 16 x86_64 LXDE a few months ago.
Before installation I resized my C:-partition from inside of Windows so I could get some free space to install Fedora on (so I would be able to dual-boot with Fedora and Windows Vista). The installation went fine and Fedora is usable and all BUT I am not able to boot Windows Vista anymore!
Help appreciated for a Fedora newbie.
I bought a windows 8 box, so I could install Fedora 18. I did not want to risk my main PC.
I first installed Fedora on a Virtual machine under Win 8, no problem, but it runs slowly. Then I tried to install Fedora as a dual boot. It failed to start from the DVD.
I then discovered you have to disable the secure boot feature from the boot menu.
I just installed Fedora 17 64 bit. I partitioned my main drive (which houses win 7) while using the live boot from a USB. The install went fine. However, now my PC just insta-boots to win 7 with no option to boot to Fedora. What did I do wrong?
Note: I am a linux noobie looking for experience as I am a CS major. I chose to start my journey with Fedora.
i am new to fedora so my apologies because i sure this has been asked before but i couldn't find it in a search. i have my hd partitioned with half the space for fedora and half for windows. i installed fedora second because i thought that grub usually "plays nice" with windows mbr.
Hi
I got an acer aspire 4310 with vista pre installed.
I installed fedora 10 on the D:/ drive by setting the D:// drive as free space within vista and then installed fedora 10. So now I have dual boot vista and fedora using grub.
How can I delete vista and install Fedora 12 on that C:// partition and be able to keep and boot my fedora 10.
hi,
i am having i sony vaio notebook. earlier i was using XP and fedora 10. now when i now installed windows 7 instead of xp, fedora 10 was not working.

how to solve this?
Hi all,
I am having trouble installing Fedora 17 on my laptop which has windows already.
I make a partition of about 80 gigabytes in the fedora installer and it shows up as free space, however when I click to install on free space, it gives me an error saying there is not enough space. I have tried going the custom way and it still gives me the same error.
