Ok... So I am running Ubuntu 12.10. I installed a NES emulator from the software center. I downloaded a ROM, played it, and everything worked fine. I decided to run in full screen mode (Because it's not fun playing on a 2-inch screen) and it properly switched resolution to 640*480 to run in full screen mode. Then, being used to windows, I used Alt+Enter to Exit full screen mode.
I installed Ubuntu 12.10 on top of Win 7 as a dual boot (awesome!). I'm hoping to use VirtualBox to run my original Win7 instance as a guest OS under Ubuntu. I found this existing question and followed the directions to no avail.
I can get the VMDK file created but when I run it I just get a blank black screen with no additional information and Windows never loads.
I have HP Pavilion dv6 6119tx system which has a screen resolution of 1366X768. But after installing fedora 17 on VirtualBox with Guest additions, the default resolution is 1280X768. Whenever I switch to fullscreen mode, I have some black space left on both left and right sides of screen.
Hi! I am new to ubuntu and linux and I have win7 on my computer. I installed linux 9.10 to another partition. I was using both os with grub. And i had 5 choices in the grub screen:
Ubuntu 9.10 build ....
Ubuntu 9.10 ....(recovery mode)
Mem test...
Mem test...
Windows 7
Host OS: Ubuntu 12.10
GuestOS: Win7x32
Vbox: 2.6
Vboxextpk: 2.6
Issue is that when plugging my external HDD (FAT32) into my machine, GuestOS Win7 will does not recognize it whatsoever. No error message, just doesn't appear in the "My Computer" section at all.
I installed ubuntu12.10 arm64 version, then installed virtualbox 64bit and win7 32bit VM.
I created /mnt/share folder and shared it with win7. In win7 share folder, some exe files could be executed, but the others couldn't. The error says, the path doesn't exist. But if I copied those files into win7's own folder, it could be executed. I'm confused. Could anyone help me?
Thanks,
Lisa
I've had Ubuntu 12.04 dual boot installed via WUBI on my Win7 HP laptop for several months.
I primarily use Win7, using Ubuntu on the weekend and for Ruby on Rails.
Recently Win7 crashed on me. After the crash I can no longer boot up with Win7.
I wasn't able to find a solution for this one, although I see it's not a new thing. I haven't experienced it before, it just started happening half an hohur ago. Apparently it's Intel graphic specific, but I am not 100% sure.
When I switch to full screen mode in Flash, it causes X to crash, which in turn logs me out.
I can't get any resolution other than 1280×800 out of my laptop screen (specs are here: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showpo...&postcount=358 )
