Hi All,
I learn from many experts online, and finally it works but still happens some sharing problems that I can handle it in different way.
Iam running a file server with samba. I connect via a wireless AP to the server with a laptop running win7. I can access the shares no problem but am having an issue where my samba server does not show up under network in on the laptop. Should I want to add another share to win7 I have to do it manually.
Hello everyone, I have been trying to setup samba on my ubuntu 12.04 LTS machine for file sharing with windows 7, so far i am keep getting "access denied" from my windows 7 client.
I have googled everywhere and tried all sorts of things but still getting this "access denied" problem
my steps were:
1) install samba on my ubuntu 12.04 LTS machine
2) i edited the smb.conf:
As the NetBIOS protocol acts on Layer 2 and so is not routable, In order to enable network browsing of remote networks, WINS has been installed and configured on two domain controllers, both of which are on different networks.
The WINS servers seem to be replicating with eachother, and each has 127.0.0.1 set as the Primary WINS Server in each of their LAN interface properties, with nothing entere
I have a Samba share on a LAN with 2008 PDC/DNS. Smb authenticates with AD and I have several Win7 Machines that can connect fine.
I recently added a couple of new computers to the LAN which were imaged the same way (same software, etc.; different hardware so different drivers) as the other machines and they have the same policies set.
Hi all.
I have the problems with transfer speed between samba and Windows XP clients.
1. samba server configuration:
Quad Core 6600 CPU.
4 Gb RAM
OpenSUSE 11.2 with kernel "2.6.31.12-0.1-desktop"
Samba - samba-3.5.1-1.1.i586
- - - -
Test: 4 GB File copying. One file.
Hey folks,
Ever since I upgraded my home server to 12.04 LTS, samba seems to have been broken. I can't view any of the shares from any of my windows 7 boxes in the house.
My network has all 2008R2 domain controllers, but we are running Active Directory in Windows 2003 mode.
Two of our domain controllers are configured as WINS servers.
I have discovered that our copiers and fax machines are currently configured to use WINS to find their servers, so I'm in the process of configuring them to use DNS instead.
How can I find out what else is actively using WINS?
Wha
As subject; none of my fedora machines appear in Windows' > Entire Network.
I have installed SAMBA and started it; edited the config file:-
Code:
[global]
printing = cups
printcap name = cups
cups options = raw
