I am looking at getting the Acer Aspire V5-571P-6473 laptop which has a very nice touchscreen. The thing I'm worried about is the touchscreen not working under Ubuntu. Can anyone help me?
I am running Ubuntu 13.04 on a Thinkpad X201 with a Wacom Touchscreen. The touchscreen seems to work fine, but upon resume after suspending, the touchscreen does not work. It actually doesn't even show up when I run:
I initially had Ubuntu 12.10 on this laptop but these issues only came into existence once I upgraded to the latest release.
Hi, I've had GREAT experiences using Ubuntu in the past when my windows vista laptop didnt work well. I havent used Ubuntu for a while on my main PC due to the portability of mac laptops. I just bought an asus x102B laptop with a touchscreen and running it on windows 8 is hell!!!!! It reminds me of Vista except its even slower.
I recently had an Asus UX31A-C4037P laptop, with touchscreen, returned

If you were planning on purchasing a Chromebook with a touchscreen, you previously only really had one option: at $1,299, Google’s Chromebook Pixel was the only laptop running Chrome OS with a touchscreen.
However, for only $299, you’ll soon be able to get Acer’s C720P Chromebook which features a touchscreen.
Now I have a Sony Vaio fashion with touchscreen and 750 GB hard drive.
I dont see any compatibility with Ubuntu but would go nuts with an Ubuntu touchscreen.
Ubuntu seems the most likely touchscreen capable distro, and I will need Linux to compute.
When will I be able to put Ubuntu on this machine, touchscreen enabled.
Any suggestions or such..
