http://forums.fedoraforum.org – not sure what i'm doing wrong here. i've got an nvidia geforce 9600m card in my laptop and have never had a problem with it using the akmod-nvidia package. i've installed that and it's dependencies, added nouveau.modeset=0 to my menu.lst, verified that the nouveau module is blacklisted and rebuilt the initrd using the suggested command at the top of the blacklist-nouveau.conf file and i still get no 3d support. the nvidia logo shows during boot and nvidia display settings does not tell me that the driver is not in use but using fusion-icon to load compiz doesn't give me any 3d effects, nothing happens. when i load urban terror i get a message saying i have no 3d support. any help would be appreciated. when i run fusion-icon from a terminal and choose compiz as my window manager i get this ... executing: compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp compiz: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: cannot enable executable stack as shared object requires: Permission denied so i turned off selinux and did that again and got this ... executing: compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". compiz (core) - Fatal: glXCreateContext failed compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0 compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0 the windows all lost their decorations so again i switch back to metacity. any ideas as to what is going on?
