Hi! I need to sell my Galaxy Exhibit 4G, so I want to do a factory data reset to wipe it clean. I rooted it about 6 months ago, but I have stayed on stock and just frozen and deleted some of the bloatware apps. Can I just do a regular factory data reset? I am concerned because of rumors that it might brick your phone?
First lets understand what a factory reset does. It removes all USER DATA and restores the phone back to factory settings providing that the phone is not rooted. User data is defined as apps, call logs, contacts, and anything else the user has placed in the phones memory. Stuff that is on the SDCARD is not affected by a factory reset.
Hi all,
suppose that some apps has damaged my phone and I want to do a factory reset on a stock but promoted ROM.
May I damage the phone by factory reset a rooted stock ROM?
If yes how can I reset the phone?
This is an odd problem I'm not sure I've seen anyone else have.
So I rooted my phone and of course almost immediately un-installed something I shouldn't have. I can open up my contacts but if I select one, contacts closes itself. I've done a soft and hard factory reset, but that's obviously not going to restore a lot of the stuff that was on there to begin with.
Okay so I'm selling my LG Esteem since I got my Nexus 4. Deciding to reset everything, I decided to perform a factory reset through the settings menu. (FYI I was rooted and had CWM unlocked). Well once I did this, the phone would turn on. It would just go straight to CWM. After some searching, I read that you can't perform Factory Resets from the settings menu if you have CWM.
Hi guys, just a few simple questions regarding malware, I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out quick!
1. Does malware require to root your phone in order for it to work? Or can it steal your information without rooting?
2.
Hey everyone, I am having a little problem... I recently did a factory reset and when the phone booted back up all the files photos and folders that were there before the reset are still there. I have tried to do it from cwm with the code from the phone and from backup and reset in every case all the folders and photos and music remain.
I recently did a hard reset on my HTC Incredible 2, now its stuck in a boot loop, I also can not access Hboot by holding the power button and down volume on boot.
Do I have any options? Is there anyway to reinstall the factory rom or can I root the phone to fix this? The phone is completely factory now it's never been rooted.
Thanks for any help!
Chris
Hello guys just got myself a pre-owned i9100 s2 running on ics 4.0.4, i wanted to know how much internal storage is the phone meant to have? I connected to my laptop and in explorer it tells me i have 6.87gb free of 11.4gb. I am a little worried as i was expecting it to have more internal storage than that (10gb +), i currently don't have any thing important on the phone.
