wifi network is not working

I am running 12.10 and the infamous rtl8723e - how ever I believe this is not driver related, once it's working it works fine with network-manager.

If I shut down with the rtl8723e (working or not) in ubuntu, there is no issue once I boot back up.

my wifi was working fine in ubuntu 11, but now after clean installation of ubuntu 12.04 lts, although wifi conects to network but internet is not working. I tried many times, when i connect to modem through networking cable, it works, but when try to connect wifi, it connects but internet not works.

I just installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my Dell Inspiron E1705 and everything works great except the wifi is not working. I am currently using a wifi usb that is allowing me to use the internet.

Still looking around for some help through other threads, but not necessarily confident with any of them.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, yesterday i installed ubuntu 10.10 desktop edition on my HP DM4-1006TU laptop everything working fine except the wifi.

i'm able to switch off/on my wifi as LED goes red and white but no network found under wireless network.

where as on windows 7 wifi working smoothly.

please help

I'm having trouble with wifi on my MSI U180 netbook using Ubuntu 12.04. When I boot up the netbook, it will connect to my router however after a few minutes the wifi will just stop working and not find or connect to any networks. The only way to get wifi connectivity back is to reboot the netbook however the connection will again only last a few minutes. A wired connection works fine.

It has been a while and many ubuntu updates since i connected the windows laptop, it used to work fine but this ubuntu machine keeps telling me the cable is unplugged. When i boot into windows XP the network works fine and the laptop can connect through the network to use the internet. I have a very simple home network ... 3 pc into one switch.

This has happened a few times, enough to annoy me and to make me consider going back to 4.0.4

My WiFi seems to lock up or freeze, you go into the Gmail app, NO CONNECTION, into Facebook NETWORK ERROR, into search it times out.

First off, I am a total newbie and really appreciate any help. On to the question. I have an HP 620 running Zorian OS 5.2. The Internet works fine when it's a wired connection but drops off dramatically on wifi. It also worked fine both wired and wifi on Windows 7.

So far I have disabled the iPV6 and paid $38 to Just Answers.com. Neither did the trick.

I have an issue with wifi in ubuntu 10.10:

Wifi works fine for a while (anything from 1 minute to a day), until it locks up and disconnects.

I have had this problem on 2 separate systems - one with a built-in realtek wifi which I have cured by using ndiswrapper.
