wifi installation

WiFi does not work: Intel Centrino Advanced N 2230 wifi chipset (For Dell Inspiron or other laptop):

Fedora 17 default install does not recognize this WiFi chipset because it does not include the needed WiFi firmware.

I am new to Ubuntu so I have some doubts regarding Ubuntu. My system is Dell Inspiron N4010 with 3GB RAM and preloaded with Windows 64 bit. I would like to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. So I downloaded the 64 bit version. Will it work perfectly on my machine? Last time I used some old versions of Ubuntu and the WiFi was not working properly. Will there be any issue like that?

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron n7110. I run unbuntu version Ubuntu 12.04 My wifi is some places just dose not work it will work for like 2 minutes then stop. so I enter "sudo rmmod iwlwifi" and then "sudo modprobe iwlwifi" and that would solve my problem for like 2-10 minutes.

I'm a ubuntu user for a long time and always preferred to use LTS versions. But I decided to give a chance to 11.10 while 12.04 don't show up.

After the kernel 3.6.2 update, my wifi no longer works in the iwlwifi driver.

Купил сегодня ноут Dell Inspiron N5520 на нем стояла ubuntu 11.10 я решил поставить по свежее версию 12.10 но перестал работать wi-fi

I have a samsung nc110 (netbook) with mac80211 wifi driver running lubuntu 12.10. I was able to set up fn key to disable/enable wifi and bluetooth.

Even when all modules (bluetooth, bnep, ..., iwlwifi, mac80211, ...) are unloaded the light is on.

I'm new to Ubuntu, i've installed version 12.10 64 bits. I am experiencing an irking problem related to wifi. Whenever i run laptop on batteries (or unplug it), lattop is not able to communicate with internet, while as the wifi icon keeps showing connected ie full signal. Please help me out.

My laptop is dell inspiron 1525.
