Wi-Fi not working only on Ubuntu computer?

http://askubuntu.com – The Wi-Fi at our house does not work on my Asus notebook running Ubuntu 12.04. It works fine on all other devices except this one. Internet worked fine before I had Ubuntu and I had Windows 7, but we also had a different ISP and place. My roommate's Windows 7 notebook and netbook both work fine with the internet and so do all of our phones and iPods. I do not know what is wrong because it works fine EVERYWHERE else, but when I am connected to my own router at my house it is either EXTREMELY slow or it just loads and loads and loads. I have all of the correct drivers and all that so why is it j (HowTos)

Hi all

I bought a samsung SE-208 external dvd player for my netbook, which I have on Ubuntu.

I can't get the dvd to work. It only claims to run on Windows and Mac, but then so do most things and they have always worked fine on Linux.

I've used my dual boot and it loads and works fine in Windows 7.

Can anyone advise how I might be able to get it running?

HI i am currently on Ubuntu Ubuntu 10.04 LTS,i am using a ASUS eee pc 100H...Problem is my computer cannot connect to my wifi network.yet it reads all of the available networks in the area just fine..what could be the problem?

My USB DVD rw is not working in my ubuntu on asus notebook(u31f). It works fine in my dektop.

help i am guessing the reason is that my desktop has a dvd r/w while notebook didn't while installation.

plz help

I have recently bought a HP Envy DV7-7201 which had Windows 8 on it. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 alongside it and everything was fine at home. I could access the internet through my wireless router (RTA10235WE) using Ubuntu.

I am visiting family for the holidays who have a Vodafone EasyBox wireless router. Windows 8 connects to the router fine.

Few days before, I have upgraded my OS from 12.04 to ubuntu 12.10 (quantal) 64-bit. Ever since that, when I try to boot my notebook with any cable connected to it, the screen just remains black and nothing happens and I have to reboot my notebook by force(holding power button).

I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 and I noticed that my right ¨touchpad click¨ isn´t working at all. My touchpad is working fine 2 finger scrolling also works but right click doesn´t work. The tochpad worked fine under windows 7. The touchpad has a physical click, but I dont now if it knows the difference between left and right click.Is there some kind of solution for this problem?

I have an intermittent network connection problem. Sometimes fine but often plays up with connection lost or very slow.

Hi All,

It has been a while and many ubuntu updates since i connected the windows laptop, it used to work fine but this ubuntu machine keeps telling me the cable is unplugged. When i boot into windows XP the network works fine and the laptop can connect through the network to use the internet. I have a very simple home network ... 3 pc into one switch.
