I downloaded, compiled remmina and freerdp from the source repositories. Unlikely I am having troubles in RDP connections. When I initiate any RDP connection from Remmina, Remmina is closed immidialtely.
I tried to open freerdp from terminal, it worked like a charm. I tried to open remmina from terminal to check errors.
In the settings of remmina, I ticked the box which says that the taskbar icon should start automatically. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work, I have to start remmina manually.
In 12.04 this worked, any idea why?
I want to try Ubuntu 12.04 and test remmina RDP viewer (I hear it is a good one). However I am in no mood to download the DVD. Does remmina come in the CD download? Can someone confirm?
PS: I do not have an internet connection on the system I need to try it on - just an internal network.
Regards
I have not changed Remmina preferences and suddenly, the keys 'b', 'd', 't', etc., were almost sending Super + key to the VM. So if I open a remote desktop session with Remmina, those keys do not work as normal. And suddenly the problem is gone and I can remember pressing Win/Super key with the VM on the foreground.
I am using the Remmina remote desktop connection on Ubuntu 12.04 to create RDP connection. The system on the remote desktop is Windows Server 2003 RC Standard 64 edition which logs off by itself randomly. It terminates the connection, so you have to re-connect.
For example: Terminates when I want to switch to another application or simply change the desktop.
It looks like KRDC isn't awful, but I'm really disappointed with Remmina (after trying to work with it since April), and I'm equally disappointed that tsclient is unsupported.
I recently installed 13.04 on an oldlaptop and for the most part it does what it's supposed to do . Onesnag I ran into was using the RDP client Remmina to connect to a MSServer 2003 machine. No matter what I do, I keep getting the messagesaying 'could not connect to rdp server______'. One thread I foundsaid change the security setting in advanced to RDP. That didn't doanything.
I have been using Remmina since 11.10 and it worked fine in 11.10.
Suddenly, in 12.04, when I connect to a Windows machine and connection specifies custom resolution that is smaller that my monitor's resolution, the RDP window starts scaled with uneven proportions. And there is no way to scale the window 100%.
Default view mode is set to "Automatic".
I have remmina 0.9.99.1 (1.0.0) in ubuntu precise.
In the password dialog box the "save password" feature is not available.
