I'm having some doubt regarding media codec's in Ubuntu.
My question is why Lubuntu shipped with all the necessary medic codec and at the same time ubuntu/Xubuntu don't have any?

Before you ask, yes, I've installed Medibuntu. This codec is not in that pack--specifically I am trying to install SCLS.dll, which stands for Screen Capture Lossless Codec, a codec that works with CamStudio's desktop recording software.
It works fine in Windows, but when I have attempted to install it on Linux, I have had zero luck through Ubuntu itself, or through Wine.
Hi, I want gallery to list my custom file with *.xyz extension. I am planning to implement a video codec in stagefright library by adding it as a OMXComponent. Now, my doubt how to map my custom extension to my codec. How to make gallery list my file as all other file and direct the media player to play the video file using my codec? I have added support for my codec in stagefright.
I have a TV in my living room, a laptop in my working room, and an Xbox 360 next to the TV. Currently I use my TV's USB plug as well as the Xbox sometimes to stream movies. However, these two methods presents a lot of codec problems.

My audio device is integrated in the mobo (gigabyte h61m-usb3h), and command:
cat /proc/asound/card0/codec* | grep Codec
Codec: Realtek ALC887-VD
Codec: Intel CougarPoint HDMI
and no corresponding model is present in file HD-Audio-Models.txt.gz.
