Below code works for different databases i.e. MYSQL and ORACLE

The problem is for MYSQL in Block: Code: if [ $? -ne 0 ] ; Code: $? taking value accordingly but in case of ORACLE Code: $? is always taking this value as zero (0).

That is the reason in Oracle it always going in else Block in any case.. :( and in case of MYSQL it is working fine.....

Oracle has pledged it will not assert copyright claims over MySQL and that it will extend terms and conditions of existing commercial licenses of the database for five years in the hope that the European Commission will approve its $7.4 billion pending acquisition of Sun Microsystems.

After strenuous deliberations, the European Union's antitrust regulatory authority is giving Oracle's proposed $7.4 billion acquisition of Sun Microsystems a green light.

Oracle announced the release of MySQL 5.5 beta which is claimed to be atleast 2 times faster the its previous stable version MySQL 5.1, which debuted a year ago. After all the controversy behind Oracle and MySQL takeover, Oracle proved that they are really serious about the development of  MySQL.

The EU has done some excellent work in stopping software patents and monopolies, but fighting Oracle's takeover of Sun is a pointless, waste of time. read more
