I am running Voyage Linux (a Debian-based distribution) and am having trouble getting the correct date.
I'm having a fuss with it taking my clock correctly on machine. Now I know what I'm doing, I'm using ntpd.service on the other machines, so I don't have to fuss with the clock.Do a time sync with ntpdate <time.server.ip.address> to get the UTC to read the right time and then when you type date it should be your localtime.

I have an iPod touch (2nd gen) and constant troubles with the clock setting itself one hour ahead of the actual time when I connect it to the computer.
Currently on a system with ubuntu and awesome as the window manager.
For some reason changing the timezone in gnome control center does not do a thing.
I am trying to configure a cisco switch as a ntp client, however I cannot get past the show ntp status of Clock is unsynchronized, stratum 16, no reference clock. I've tried setting the clock close to the UTC time, but i still don't show time synced.
I'm using 12.04 with Gnome Classic.
I wanted the clock on the right of my top panel to display time in the 24-hour format.
When I checked Date and Time under System Settings, it showed 24-hour, but that hadn't had any effect, since I still had an am-pm clock.
I found this (http://www.bitsbythepound.com/use-a-...buntu-352.html) and followed it.
Now I had 24-hour time, but other changes
Hi All,
I work on a cruise ship and only have access to satellite internet, which is very slow and VERY expensive (£10 for 170 minutes!!)
I'm looking for a dual clock widget, something like the standard HTC Sense clock but with the ability to overlay a smaller version in one corner.
I just switched from 10.04 to 12.04. When I click the clock and click 'Time & Date Settings' it opens up the general System Settings menu (which itself is a problem, it should go directly to Time/Date settings, but that doesn't concern me). From there I navigate to 'Date and Time'. It gives me the option to switch between AM/PM and 24 hour, but regardless of which I choose, it stays at AM/PM.
