Why aren't my drivers for NetGear N150 dynamically loaded

:guitar:I am trying to install a NetGear WNA1000M (N150 Wireless Micro USB Adapter) in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Where do I start?

I recently got a N150 Wireless USB Adapter and was wondering how to set it up in Ubuntu if possible. I am fairly new to Linux so please explain as simply as you can.

Hi There.... I has been several months since I wrote asking for help. But I am back....

About 4 months ago I was trying to update my Ubuntu to 12.04 using update manager. All of a sudden I got an I/O read error!!and my laptop did a crash an burn!! Took me awhile to figure how to get to load something there was no OS if any kind on it.

Hey guys. I've researched around and couldn't find a working solution for this driver install.

Ndiswrapper installs the latest driver but it doesn't detect it at all.

I ran lsusb and this line is there: Bus 002 Device 004: ID 1385:4251 Netgear, Inc WG111T (no firmware)

Please offer suggestions on what to do. The drivers are the latest ones.

I am running a desktop computer with and Asus motherboard and AMD Phenom II x 4 processor. It is a 65 bit machine. I installed Ubuntu 12.10 last week and am still trying to get the wireless usb adapter working. I installed a driver for this device using the Windows Wireless Drivers App (ndisgtk). The driver is bcmwlhigh63 which I got from the Netgear site.

Just thought I would post this small thread dealing with getting the Realtek 8192E wireless adaptor working on the N150. Hope it is of help to anyone running one of there charming little machines:)

I am seeking some help in regards to getting my wireless card to work. I have used the sticky as well as read through the majority of the threads in this forum and many others to try and get this to work. I am at my wits end as I was just trying out Ubuntu for the first time 10.04. I ran:~$ dmesg | grep -e ndis -e wlan and below is what I came up with.

Ubuntu (12.04) holds a significant percentage in Desktop market (50% in GNU/Linux desktop share) and most importantly – it’s growing very fast. A lot of schools and universities have also switched to Ubuntu (most of them were using Windows XP). Since Ubuntu is very easy to use – kids also prefer Ubuntu or some other Light weight GNU/Linux distro specially designed for children.

Ive been noobing around with an old Dell Inspirion 2650 and had Lubuntu 12.10 running on it. I had ordered a Netgear WG511v2 and had installed it using the instructions provided here: http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=35739 and it worked perfectly. I then decided to wipe Lubuntu and install Ubuntu Server 12.04.2.
