WHM&cPanel Disk Used shows Incorrect Values

http://forums.cpanel.net – Hello. I have a problem on my VPS with Disk Used space counting in WHM and cPanel. For example user has disk quota 1000MB, but WHM counts 4967MB, which is not correct. In cPanel i see that this 4GB is in Other Files. First question is - How I can see this "other files" without finding them bymyself with find -u username, which utility cPanel uses to find this files and which utility it uses to count disk used by this "other files"? Its already three questions :). Next. I have found that this is common problem. I google it and found some solutions how to fix quot (HowTos)

Hi! When I log on to my cpanel account, the stats menu on the left shows disk space usage as 1480.39/∞. But when I click on the link of "disk space usage" it shows me as though the disk space usage is limited. For example my public_html shows that it is almost full making me worried of uploading more files.

Hello. How can this be possible?

I am trying to figure out what is the utility or "wrapper" that helps backups to only run when load is below a certain amount.

I remember reading about this somewhere but I can't recall....

Basically, we have a cron job (maldet) that uses a very high amount of disk io ("find" command) and it is causing iowait% to go to 99% for the duration of the run.

While trying to access the WHM panel, I am getting the following error. Up on checking the server via ssh and I have notified that the disk usage is 100%. I have freed disk space and tried to start the cPanel service but it ends with error also I am not able to run the /scripts/up --force. It end with Perl error and /scripts/chkperlmodules is missing in the server.

So I figured recently that rm moved files to the Thunar trash (.local/share/Trash) by getting a nice "disk full" warning on my meager virtualbox disk.By all means, I believes it's a good idea, but it's a shame that it isn't documented anywhere.

Today we created an hosting account on a cpanel server with unlimited disk space.

But in fantastico while installing wordpress it showed error as:

Not enough space available to install WordPress Disk space required: 9.56 MB Disk space available: -0.5 MB

However in cpanel it was correctly showing as unlimited space.

We have changed it now to 500 GB and fantastico shows correctl

background and problem: I was getting a disk usage warning (via cpanel) because /var seemed to be filling up on my server. The assumption would be that there was a log file growing too large and filling up the partition.
