http://www.talkandroid.com – Samsung recently opened a plant in Austin, Texas that is responsible for manufacturing the A5X CPU for Apple’s iPhone and iPad. We all know that Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone and most likely an iPad Mini next month so Samsung is going to invest another $4 billion into the plant. That is on top of the original $3.6 billion investment to get the plant opened. This investment will obviously go towards making the plant more efficient. I find it absolutely amazing that two companies can be such great partners on one hand, but on the other, they’re arch enemies. As we all (IT news)

  If you recall: the UK courts recently found that Samsung actually didn’t infringe on various Apple iPad patents and subsequently ruled Apple had to give Samsung some satisfaction. Well Apple didn’t take too kindly of that and demonstrated its defiance to the courts’ decision and issued an arrogant apology.

Earlier today I posted about the comparative merits of Apple’s iPhone 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S III, and in doing so it turns out that no matter what my conclusion, I probably helped Samsung move a few Galaxy smartphones.

While Samsung may have suffered a massive blow in its lawsuit against Apple, the Korean-based manufacturer isn’t giving in anytime soon.

Next week Samsung and Apple go at it in the courts again. I know, what else is new? Anyways, the Wall Street Journal posted some excerpts from Samsung’s trial brief. Of course Samsung’s argument is that they didn’t copy Apple’s iPhone one bit and that they were working on the next generation of mobile phones in the Summer of 2006, months before the iPhone was announced.

The legal battle between Apple and Samsung just racketed up a few notches as Samsung’s legal team file a motion to get their hands on samples of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5 and iPad 3.

Apple has just announced the official release date of the iPad mini, 4th generation iPad and iPhone 5 in China. The tablets will go on sale next Friday, December 7 in that country, and the iPhone 5 will arrive on December 14, a week afterwards.
