I noticed this morning the iptables firewall was not starting due to the fact that I rebuilt the kernel and forgot to include the relevent Netfilter modules. So I added those and rebooted. The firewall still fails, but rather that referring to the non-available ip_tables module, it now just says iptables.init: iptables: Applying firewall rules: iptables-restore: line 13 failed.
I am currently going to port a Red Hat 6.4 machine and I need its firewall configuration, but something is going on.
iptables -L shows a list of rules as expected, but at the same time I can't find my /etc/sysconfig/iptables (or /etc/sysconfig/ip6tables). That's the first question I have: where is it getting the rules from?
Hi every body
I have problem with saving iptables configuration on fedora 20 and iptables v18.104.22.168.i do below solution to solve problem but don't work:
1-use /usr/libexec/iptables/iptables.init save command
2- use iptables-save > /etc/sysconfig/iptables
3-use iptables-save > iptables.dump
iptables-restore < iptables.dump
On Fedora 12 each reboot seem to reset my custom iptables rules I have manually added to /etc/sysconfig/iptables. My change are in /etc/sysconfig/iptables.old so obviously some process is removing them.
Any idea what this is? Any suggestions appreciated.
