How can I see a list of flags/options used to configure and compile a certain package in yum, without having to install it first? Say apache, for example.

$ yum list available httpd Available Packages httpd.x86_64 2.2.15-15.el6.centos.1 base

I'm running CentOS 6.3.

You have not told us the source or the application[s] but there is no "DSS" CentOS package. You should inquire at the source of the packages, or at least provide more information. [by pschaff]

I have just installed CENTOS 6 on an internal network with no Internet Access.

Not very familiar with LINUX/CENTOS, I managed to get httpd service started and I believe PHP wasn't installed.

As the machine is not connected to the Internet, it will not be able to use YUM directly.

Regarding the errors about patches, inspect the .rej files. Those patches did not apply cleanly. Chances are they are not written for the particular version of kernel source you are using. [by toracat]
