Going through LFS 7.3 and about ready to make it bootable but Fedora's grub is giving me issue.
The plan was to share /boot between LFS and Fedora 18 as I have done in the past (been awhile since I ran LFS - LFS 4.something last time). Hell, I've shared /boot between Fedora, CentOS, Ubuntu, and LFS.
I'm trying to dual-boot Fedora 17 and Windows XP. I installed Fedora from the live-cd with no problem onto a second hard drive, and put GRUB2 on the first drive so it's the boot loader.
When I try to boot Fedora I get a "Cannot open file font True" message and it stops booting. I looked around and found that the error should only delay the booting, and found how to fix it.
Hi all I am using fedora 11 from last one or + year. Just few days back I have try to install fedora 13 on new hdd I have brought. my have install fedora 13 on fresh drive and while installation i gave hdd of 11 to mount into fedora 13. but something went wrong. now i can not boot fedora 11 with single drive. the boot process starts normally and suddenly gives following errors.
I'd like to find out what takes the most time in my boot process from GRUB to the Ubuntu login screen. How can I profile my boot process to find out what's taking so long?

Hello friends,
I have bought a HP-g6-2230sa laptop, which comes with win8.
I have managed to install fedora18 in it.
But the problem is I cannot make it to boot f18 by default. The usual process to boot to fedora is: start the machine-> be very fast to press F9-> select Fedora (or else it will go to os boot manager and will boot win8).
I'm a relative Linux and Fedora newbie looking for help. (Hopefully I posted this in the right sub forum.)
A few days ago I upgraded from Fedora 16 to Fedora 17 via the DVD using the clean install method. The installation ran perfectly fine. Fedora 17 itself runs beautifully. I'm dual booting with Windows 7 and it also runs perfectly fine.
The problem is when grub2 is loading.
I did a fresh intall of Fedora17 64bit on a dual boot system with vista. The installation was fine. Grub boot menu takes unusally long time to showup. Re installed Fedora 16 64 bit, the grub bootmenu showed up fast.
Probalby grub2 is the culprit after the installation of Fedora17. So tried upgrade from Fedora 16 to 17 without boot configuration update option during the installation.
I had a Fedora 18 install that I installed yesterday.
In the process of it, I had some problems with Gnome conflicting with something when I installed Cinnamon, that required me to uninstall it. I uninstalled Gnome, Cinnamon and just started with a fresh install of the group "Cinnamon Desktop".
During that process, it uninstalled the Fedora themed GDM (?) which I thought looked pretty nice.
