When will cPanel come with a standard perl?

http://forums.cpanel.net – Hey all, I'm sure it's on here somewhere and my Google Skills must be lacking :( but I was just curious when cPanel will have at least 5.10 server perl and/or when cpanel's internal perl will be upgraded. Thanks! (HowTos)

Hello there,

I have a security question.

All we disable some dangerous function in PHP ti avoid running of PHP shells. As cPanel uses perl for all its tasks and al of PHP's dangeros functions have equivalents in perl, so someone can easily port a pho shell to perl and simply run it on the server. Disabling any function in perl will result in cPanel's many parts to stop working.

I have one little problem and question about that (hope so that I'm not missed the topic).

I try to install Perl module Video::FFmpeg but I can't.

When I asked administrators of hosting why, they told me that is Perl module requires 5.10+, and unfortunately cPanel requires perl 5.8.8.

While trying to access the WHM panel, I am getting the following error. Up on checking the server via ssh and I have notified that the disk usage is 100%. I have freed disk space and tried to start the cPanel service but it ends with error also I am not able to run the /scripts/up --force. It end with Perl error and /scripts/chkperlmodules is missing in the server.

I'm currently trying to write a little module in perl (for use within my Cpanel template). It'll expose its function to API2.

The module need to update datas in a MySQL table, but I can't figure out how to do this.. DBI is not available for custome perl module...
