I just upgraded from 8.04 Ubuntu to 10.04. The mouse cursor works fine during login. As soon as the system switches to the desktop, the arrow cursor "image" disappears (remains working ..you just can't see it). The OS will also randomly shut down requiring a re boot.
On my asus1225c and i am getting crazy because the cursor disappears after a second of inactivity, if i don't touch the trackpad the cursor is not visible, but if move the trackpad the cursor is visible, i tried with an usb mouse and i have the same problem. I installed also xubuntu and i have the same problem, then i reinstalled ubuntu 12.04, does someone know this problem? can you help me?
I have Xubuntu 12.04 installed on my computer and there is an annoying problem with my mouse cursor. When I start the computer, it is usually fine, but if I leave it for a while it goes in sleeping mode, as it should, and then, e.g., in an hour I wake it up from sleeping mode, the mouse cursor is not there. Actually, it is only invisible but it is still active.
Recently downloaded Ubuntu.
I haven't even been using mine a week yet, so I'd love to hear from those of you who have had it for months. My personal worst is editing typos. It is SO hard to touch right in a word where the typo is to edit to mistake. Even waiting for the blue tab to come up and trying to drag that around isn't very effective because they don't zoom and shift the bubble up so that it's not under your thumb.
I am using Ubuntu 11.10
This seems to be an easy question, yet I cannot find an answer anywhere.
On pre-unity Ubuntu, I was using gedit-zoom plugin to zoom text in editor window in/out, either with Ctrl + +/- or by holding Ctrl and scrolling a wheel on mouse.
The same plugin does not seem to work in Ubuntu 11.10.
Any way I can get text zooming capability?
Thanks in advance,
Greg
When using my synaptics touchpad on Windows, the driver has the option of giving the cursor inertia (note, not just the scrolling).
I found it a lot less straining to use the touchpad with this feature enabled.
Hi guys , After I had updated to 11.10 version , I discovered that the mouse doesn't work , The mouse pointer appears at the log screen but it doesn't work and after log the mouse cursor disappears completely , I am controlling the cursor now by the keyboard but it's too difficult , I have updated and upgraded through terminal but nothing changed , So what is the solution ??
Sorry for my English
Time to time my mouse cursor stalls, and it can be freed only by reloading the psmouse daemon:
$ sudo rmmod psmouse
$ sudo modprobe psmouse
This happens, when I'm using my laptop's trackpad, and this problem goes away if I plug in USB mouse.
