So I got the Galaxy Note 2 in December and I have been loving it but the only thing I miss is the iMessage group chat. So in the messaging app I can start a group chat but when I get texts back it just comes into that friend's name chat, not the group chat I started.
OK this is a basic question showing my ignorance of sysadmin matters...
Looking at the UNIX system I work on, my /etc/passwd entry says
my_name:x:uid:gid:comments:home directory:login shell
Then when I go and look at group 'gid' in /etc/group, I see
group_name:x:gid:some_other_name
So how come /etc/passwd thinks I am a member of the group, but /etc/group doesn't?
So majority of my friends have iphones and are always group texting and include me in the group texting as well. Now when they send texts to one another with their iphones the messages all get displayed in one box of messages in comparison to me getting multiple texts from everyone in the group chat and it gets confusing whose talking to who lol.
I need to create a hierarchy of UNIX groups. Something like below:
A
|\
| \
B c
|\
D e
|\
f g
...where A, B and D are UNIX groups and c,e,f and g are UNIX accounts that are members of those specific groups. I have googled a lot but it seems that this is not possible.
Currently, we have the following:
Group A has members c.
Group B has members e.
Many times (more often than not) when I take a photo and send it to someone with WhatsApp, it sends the picture. Then when I go into WhatsApp again, for example to send another message or read a message, it sends the picture again. This is happening on my Galaxy S3 now, and has happened previously on my HTC Wildfire. Needless to say, this is pretty annoying. Anyone experience this before?

hey guys,
I am trying to setup group chat/mms so i can chat with my friends who have iphones and htc. I read that handcent and gosms pro can do this. However, when i send an outgoing message it send in a group, but their replies come back in the seperate individual user threads. i have the option checked for group mms, but its still not working. Please help!

Using Exchange 2007 on a Windows 2003 Server, how can we view the parent of a nested sub group that is nested many levels deep? For example, I created a Group named "Baseball". Then, I created a second group called "Teams". I made "Teams" a member of "Baseball" by choosing "Members" -> "Add" ( under the "Baseball" group ).
Here's the deal. Pretty much everyone I text with any sort of regularity has an iPhone. They will frequently include me in their group messages, not realizing how confusing/frustrating it is to be getting random texts from 6 people at once, not knowing if replying to one of them lets them all see it, etc.
