I tried to run virtualbox today and F18 told me it was not there!! Which is strange as I have a couple of virtual machines. But, I searched and it ain't there.
Only just installed VirtualBox with Ubuntu as a guest OS on my Win7 64-bit PC a couple of days ago, so a real beginner, and already having problems.
Started Ubuntu in VirtualBox today, and was told I had Ubuntu updates waiting, just like Windows Update. I said go ahead, and they were installed (53Mb). I had to reboot the Ubuntu guest OS afterwards. That's when my problems started.
I just replaced my Fedora 16 with 17, Now Im not able to install Vbox. Dependencies error comes out. Please help.
I hope this is in the right area... Apologizes if it is not.
So I installed VirtualBox 4.1.10 on Windows 7 64bit and Ubuntu 11.10 (64bit) a few days ago. I enabled 3D support in VirtualBox and installed guest additions in ubuntu. It was great, super smooth. Window manager was snappy and I could move windows around no problem. CPU usage goes up a bit but it was very responsive.
Hello,
I have recently started playing with ubuntu 12.10 in as a guest image in VirtualBox.
The new version of VirtualBox 4.0.0 has been released. Here, you will find the download link for the VirtualBox 4.0.0 for Mac OS X. VirtualBox is the most popular of OpenSource virtualization software. With this software we can install and run multiple operating system on Mac OS X machine.
I am running ubuntu 9.10 two ways: (a) as the host OS on one machine I will call ``Machine A'' (or just "A"), and (b) as a guest OS (in Oracle VM virtualbox 3.2, upgraded today from sun virtualbox 3.1) on another machine I will call ``Machine B'', (or just "B"). The host OS of Machine B is Win XP Pro. On A, I have installed sun virtualbox, and for a while that worked well.
I have Virtualbox 4.1.2_ubuntur3859 installed on an Ubuntu 11.10 host, running a guest ubuntu server 10.04 with xfce4 and xorg installed with no-install-recommends.
I have installed guest additions, but the maximum resolution in the display settings is 800x600.
I have read related questions:
How to change resolution of the VirtualBox (Ubuntu guest and host)?
I am having a lot of troubles to have my virtualbox guest additions installed, I got this message:
