I upgraded my T420 thinkpad to kernel 3.6.9-1-ARCH and today realized that the battery life is only around 2 hours (usually I get 6 with a 6-cell battery). Is anyone else having problems with unusually high power consumption on this kernel? My temporary solution was to downgraded the kernel to 3.6.8-1-ARCH. I'll keep "IgnorePkg = linux linux-headers" until the next kernel
Good day everyone!
I've been seeing some spectacular battery lives posted by some of the users here, and I was wondering, how does your SGS2 hold up against heavy usage?
I did a quick measurement of my usage today and found that my battery consumption was at ~1.5min/% while I was websurfing via 3G and listening to music while on the train.
I compiled overclock modules to work with our kernel. I repeat i did not make modules i only compiled them.
Here is original thread:
You can change freq and voltage of cpu.
According to Battery Monitor Widget, my Rezound is currently running at a drain of 300 - 600mA.
Has anyone noticed bigger power consumption (reduced battery time)/temperatures on laptops (preferably with i915 gpu) with kernel > 3.7.3 ? Is it only my idea?

Hi
I 've been wondering for a long time wheather there is a way how to show the current power consumption when computer are pluged into AC
When on battery, gnome-power-statistics shows how much the system consumes power in Watt but when on adapter and the battery is charged it don't show it. How can I find out my system cosumption in this case?
Greetings members,
I have simplistic framework installed & I want to install Xposed framework to use greenify donation extra features, will I get ROM problems(any kind of problems)?
Q2; what is better for battery life having 2 or three cores working at high Freq., or having all 4 cores working at average Freq. ?
For my expectations, i think all on is better than 2 or 3 with high Freq.
UPDATED 4/20 miui v4
ROM
This is stock CyanogenMod 9.1 as base for miui port.
- All themes work
- Battery drain bug fixed
- 1080p video recording fixed (including H264 thanks to braccoz)
- Fix USB tethering, MTP, PTP [braccoz]
- Slow USB transfer bug fixed
- Remote Wipe hack/exploit patched (see here)
- Kernel compiled with Linaro 4.7
- Includes modified kernel (see next section)
Kernel Features
Just curious if anybody else experienced some issues with increased power consumption with the updated kernel 3.9.5 from Slackware current ?
After a clean boot power consumption/internal temperature are in the same levels like with 3.8.x kernel. However after a suspend/resume cycle, powertop shows consumption gets almost doubled (from 8W to 15W).
