Kdenlive is a non-linear video editing suite that supports DV, HDC and much more formats. This simple tutorial is going to show you how to install the latest version of Kdenlive 0.9.2 (for now) and keep up-to-date in Ubuntu 12.04, 11.10, 11.04, 10.04 using PPA.
Install Kdenlive video editor from PPA:
Kdenlive is available in Ubuntu Software Center, but it’s a little old.
I had kdenlive working on my ubuntu 12.04, the only problem was that I couldn't hear the audio on the movies I edited.
So I upgraded to ubuntu 13.04, and the same problem was.
So I uninstalled kdenlive, thinking that the problem will disappear when Ill reinstall kdenlive.
then when I tried to install kdenlive the following error appeared:
Could not locate executable gfortran
Could not locate executable f95
Could not locate executable ifort
Could not locate executable ifc
Could not locate executable lf95
Could not locate executable pgfortran
Could not locate executable f90
Could not locate executable f77
Could not locate executable fort
Could not locate
Does anyone know how I can install the new version of kdenlive on fedora 17. Right now rpm fusion only has kdenlive 0.9.2 but the repo for fedora 18 has kdenlive 0.9.4 but I'd rather not upgrade to fedora 18.
Here are some news on what is happening with Kdenlive's video editor. Last year, we launched a successful IndieGoGo campaign to sponsor Till Theato's work on Kdenlive.
I have finally found time to start merging his great work so that we can clean up Kdenlive and move towards the future.
I will merge my work in the next days in Kdenlive's git master.
