What to include in an RPM created from python packages

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I'm looking to create a rpm for this tarball and couldn't figure out which files needed to be included in the package after the install. I am used to compiling some code and including the binary output; however, since this is all python and seems to use distutils to install everything is there even bin/executable to include in the package? I thought distutils just adds the module to the appropriate 3rd party python modules dir on the target machine. If I use: %install make install DESTDIR=%{buildroot} what would be the appropriate output to include in the rpm package, i.e., under %files? (HowTos)

Im new to linux but i like it more than windows. Im trying to install keryx to download update packages for my laptop which i install ubuntu on it yesterday. but while install the setup.py. terminal gives a url which it says that i should install it.

I need to run python module as trivial Linux command without worrying about the location of the file. Can I do it with Distutils?

Specific about what I need. A user should do simple installation and be able to use it:

python setup.py install mymodule --arg value

I just upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10, am fooling around with some Python code. In earlier releases, I used to be able to do:

import speechd

And now I get that the module does not exist.

Hello, I have just installed #! on my lenovo S10-2 netbook without any problems. Thanks for the work in creating such an easy and lightweight distribution! I installed the vim packages and need to make use of the vim python module. But, it does not seem to be installed. If I look at the package description it says it's been compiled with vim. Perhaps I need to install another package.

I'm using django constance in my project. This app used a python package ast. When I try to install that package using command pip-2.7 install ast, it results as "Could not find any downloads that satisfy the requirement ast".

Can some one help me how to install this package in CentOS? I tried searching in google, unfortunately I couldn't find any link.

I have a package that depends on an old version of tornado:
