I want to install Ubuntu 11 on my Dell Mini 9. Using ubuntu.com, I created a USB drive. I was successful in running Ubuntu 11 from the USB drive. However, I could not install Ubuntu 11 from the USB drive. There was a screen that had a checklist of three items on it. One of them was having enough free space on my hard disk, which I do not. The hard disk is just too small.
Hello all
I wish to install ubuntu on a memory card so that i dont change anything with my macbookair ssd and also save some space. I've been trying since a fortnight, but didn't succeed. I wouldn't like to use a live cd but have a dedicated installed ubuntu. Since my air doesn't have a cd drive, i'll use a usb drive as an installation disk. Any sort of help would really be appreciated.

Hi,
I intend to create an Ubuntu (12.04 386) based "PC on a Disk on key) as part of my preparation for a long trip.
I took a 32 GB USB memory (Labeled Linux Mint from a former use), booted the PC from a CD, and chose to install on the /dev/sdc (USB memory) and install the grub2 too on that device.
Installation ( with / on sdc1 with NO separate /boot) completed with only a single problem- i
