Hello everyone :D
I have a Sony xperia S updated to the latest build of ICS with a 1 year warranty ( still there's about 7-8 months in it )
im eager to install custom roms on it , but problem is that i loose warranty if i unlock my bootloader :(
and im a moderate/heavy user on the phone .
So my question is , should i go for it and unlock the bootloader ?
Im not such a fan of custom roms or custom kernels. I always stay on Stock roms, I dont really like to mess around with my phone other then rooting it and i also like to replace system apps from other phones I previously had, so I usually make nandroid backups if something goes wrong I just go back to a previous working backup.
So my quetion is guys...
I think/hope this might be an easy question.
I have an xperia S that has bootloader unlocked and currently running a custom rom. In the next few weeks I may be swapping the phone with a family member. How would I go about getting the phone back on stock Sony firmware.
can someone guide me ahead in rooting process?
i know few steps - ( not going into details)
1- unlock bootloader from ( s-off)
2- install custom recovery
3- backup stock rom
4- wipe everything out
5- install new rom
i was wondering where the partitioning of sd card comes in ? i mean why should we partition our sd cards? is it necessary before installing custom roms?
Hello. recently I read on a section of the HTC One X forum that if you want to unlock the carrier of a HOX and you have a custom ROM flashed and bootloader unlocked you need to lock back the bootloader and flash a stock ROM. Is it true, or can unlock it with the custom rom flashed?
Hi guys, I unlocked the bootloader with HtcDev and I installed the latest recovery. I didn't install any roms.(i have a weird feeling that this is important) After reading that official JB is coming this month I decided to give up installing a custom rom for the time being. How can I return everything to stock so that I can install the official JB when it arrives?
If i ever wanted to try a custom rom with custom kernals, how easy is it to revert back to stock kernal, is it just the matter of flashing stock gingerbread 2.3 firmwire via flashtool?
obv i would have to unlock my bootloader.
i am just practising atm, i never thought it would be this simple, it looked so complicated from the start.
I am currently running gin2jellybean, great rom!
i'm newbie on xperia xplay because i own x10i and its really different from it and my friend ask me to customize his xplay..
i read threads on xplay dev but i don't find custom rom for stock kernel so i wonder is there is any rom for stock?
because i'm getting nervous if i'll try to unlock his xplay bootloader (i might brick)...
need help thanks..
